When I see/hear the hatred and evil present in the US in the form of marriage inequality in some states, my heart bleeds. I’m straight. I lost the love of my life because trying to get a fiance visa (he was a foreigner) took so incredibly long (years) that the distance and expense caused the end of my future. The govt does NOT have the right to dictate whether a loving adult couple can marry – straight, gay, or anywhere else on the spectrum.
@DerekWilliamsMusic I don’t enjoy all the time I spend trying to fight their hate too. My blood boils when I see the selfish, mean, evil things they post – even more so when they use God as an excuse for the hate in their hearts I’m straight but until LGBT people have equal rights, I won’t stop. Love is love. I hope we both manage to change/open many minds.
Republicans – He’s right. Supporting SMALL government means BUTTING OUT of everyone’s personal lives – including their right to marry. Supporting gay marriage is the rational, humane, fair thing to do. I’m straight and I support gay marriage.
@coolcatrich Anti-gay religions teach that homosexuality is evil, and that you should hate that part of you – hence the paternalistic putdown “Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin”. This means you are telling people to hate a part of another human being, that they had absolutely no say in being.
I enjoy being a homosexual. But I don’t enjoy all the time I waste on channels like this trying to talk sense into you and others like you who insist on trying to make me feel bad about myself.

What fills me with even more horror than the life you’re offering me is the afterlife you’re offering me. Being celibate has no appeal, nor has being stuck in eternal afterlife with a load of sanctimonious busybodies.

@coolcatrich before entering heaven. People don’t understand what their church teaches, sometimes that includes me. Infact there is a lot of things I don’t understand within the Catholic Church, and that is what causes war and hate. A misunderstanding and the fact they don’t search for correct answers. It’s a shame that everyone isn’t educated as they should be. Even some priests don’t understand everything, or are going down the wrong path, consisting of hate and extreme actions.
@DerekWilliamsMusic First off no body but specific priests designated in each diocese should be performing exorcisms. Secondly God doesn’t hate fags, God loves all of his children, more than we could ever comprehend. Thirdly, bullying is wrong, no body should bully others, God says to love everyone. Most men, have the urge to watch porn and masturbate, they don’t have to hate that part of themselves, just control it. Purgatory purges us of the wanting to sin.
@DerekWilliamsMusic The 10 commandments cover more than you would think. Like the commandment about adultery covers a wide range, from masturbation to sex before marriage to homosexual intercourse, etc etc. And the the bible is the word of God, Jesus does not have to speak it. As for other the comment below, the reason for living should be for God.

This young man EricJames took his own life after his mother tried to exorcise him of his homosexuality.
I can point you to many other tragedies like this of kids aged 11yo and upwards whose bullying at school consisted mostly of “God hates fags”. Every child killed himself.
You just don’t get it, and nor does any religion that teaches gays to hate so fundamental a part of ourselves.

@coolcatrich It also clearly states in the Bible that women should not speak in church and should not be teachers, and that you may not eat shellfish, pick up sticks on the Sabbath, but Jesus Christ never mentioned homosexuality, nor is it mentioned in the motherhood statements of the Bible, such as the Ten Commandments, Christ’s Two Commandments, his Eight Beatitudes or his Seven Last Words. One day the Catholic Church will apologise for its egregious error on homosexuality.
@coolcatrich and as for your offensive and paternalistic suggestion that I “can’t control myself”, it is rapists who can’t control themselves. There is no way you should be teaching gay teenagers that for the next 80 years they can never be with a person of the same sex as themself, whom they’ve fallen in love with to the exclusion of all others, just because they were born that way. You may not have those romantic sexual feelings but to most they are the main reason for living.
@coolcatrich So only heterosexuals “need” sex? What about Romantic love? Let’s do the math. Approx 5% of the population is openly gay (based on 4% 2004 and 2008 US Census exit polls, and 6% in UK as average). Applied to global 7 billion population is 350 million gays. Most will never hear of Catholicism, and many will go to other accepting religions, and I am certain since even the Catholic Church teaches that God made gays gay, they are best off nowhere near you or your prejudices.
@DerekWilliamsMusic Your right they have been in the wrong quite a few times. And I am sure there will be more mistakes to come. I do however disagree, this will always be a teaching of the Catholic Church. It clearly states in the bible that same sex intercourse is an abomination. But yes, we have made mistakes. The Catholic Church has a history of ghastly mistakes, such as burning Giordano Bruno at the stake and imprisoning Galileo for their correct teachings about astronomy, excommunicating Martin Luther for exposing the sale of Indulgences and other corruptions, silence on the Jewish Holocaust and covering up pedophilia in the priesthood. It is wrong on this too

@DerekWilliamsMusic And there are people who remain celibate all their lives, and they live love filled lives, just not the love your talking about. Priests for instance. Anyways God loves all people, and gives them the option to follow him. Whether you do so or not is your call. And it was my job to say what my church believes and professes. My job is done. @DerekWilliamsMusic Unquestioningly? I was totally opposed to the Catholic church for quite a long time, but as I studied it things started to make a lot more sense. I am not an average blind follower, I went to Catholic schools for 12 years, many of those years me not believing in God. And I disagree with both Birth Control and Divorce. Anyways haters?
